Where and when did the UFO/somniferous almond-eyed grey archetypes originate? Why isn’t there more variety to the conceptualizations of extraterrestrial forms? via /r/aliens

Where and when did the UFO/somniferous almond-eyed grey archetypes originate? Why isn’t there more variety to the conceptualizations of extraterrestrial forms?

EBEs, greys, aliens, ufos, saucers……. Where can I find other forms of extraterrestrials and their means of transportation? It seems like the cliches are strictly adhered to in almost every account I've come across, with varying 'credibility'.

It seems like the saucer and grey beings are at the core of every piece of information.

I try to reassure myself that there must be truth to this consistency of forms, but I also feel like there had to have been a source of these archetypes at the roots of the ufology tree.

Was there an individual known to be the first to mention these beings and their craft? If so, who and when?

I'm wondering this, because I feel like the scope of extraterrestrial entities and their crafts shouldn't be limited to the very common archetypes we've come to more or less embrace.

I also believe that the whole inter-dimensional psychological component to the accounts can be related to experiences with entheogenic chemicals, such as psilocybin and DMT (a la Terence McKenna)

Thanks in advance for being patient with a n00bie to this sub!
